A new treatment at Muotosairaala harnessing the body’s own blood repair mechanisms
ACP® PRF treatment is an advanced plasma treatment based on new technology, using the body’s own natural growth factors to improve the skin.
PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is a second-generation blood plasma treatment in which growth factors are released into the tissue gradually and over a longer period of time compared to traditional PRP treatments.
Unlike many other plasma treatments, ACP® PRF treatment uses only the patient’s own blood, with no added substances. This makes the treatment highly safe and natural.
The fibrin network formed in PRF binds growth factors in place and releases them gradually. This improves skin renewal, the formation of new collagen and elastin, and tissue healing, resulting in more beautiful and healthier skin.
ACP® PRF treatment is also suitable for busy people, as recovery is quick. The treatment can be combined with SkinPen® Precision Elite microneedling during the same appointment. It is also suitable as part of a comprehensive treatment programme designed to slow down skin aging.
Launch offer: 10% off the treatment until Midsummer 2026.
What can ACP® PRF treatment help with?
- Treatment of acne scars
- Dull and tired-looking skin
- Rejuvenation: reducing fine lines
- Prejuvenation: as part of treatment designed to slow down skin aging
- Strengthening thin skin and reducing dark circles under the eyes
- Alongside procedures such as laser or microneedling treatments to enhance results and speed up recovery
ACP® PRF treatment procedure
The suitability of the treatment is first assessed during a free 30-minute consultation. At the beginning of the treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient. The blood is processed in a centrifuge, where platelet- and growth-factor-rich fibrin plasma (PRF) is separated.
The prepared PRF is injected into the treatment area in small amounts using a very thin needle or cannula. The treatment can be performed on the face, the skin under the eyes, the neck, décolletage or other skin areas as needed.
PRF releases growth factors gradually. This stimulates the formation of collagen and elastin, which are important for the skin’s elasticity and firmness, supports skin renewal and improves the skin. The effect of the treatment develops gradually over the following weeks. We recommend starting with a series of 3 to 6 treatments, performed at intervals of 2 to 4 weeks, followed by regular maintenance treatments.
Risks of the Treatment
ACP® PRF treatment is highly safe because only the patient’s own blood is used, meaning that there is no risk of hypersensitivity reactions.
Redness and swelling usually last no longer than the day of the treatment. When treating the under-eye area, swelling may last for a few days. Small bruises are possible with all injection treatments. To minimise the risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding anti-inflammatory pain medication as well as omega-3 and fish oil supplements for 2 weeks before treatment.
A very rare risk is infection at the injection site. Individual characteristics, such as age, sun exposure history, genes, underlying medical conditions, smoking and the use of nicotine products, may individually affect treatment results.
Consultation before the procedure
Before the procedure, it is recommended to attend a consultation with a nurse to assess the situation. When planning the procedure, your individual characteristics and wishes are taken into account to ensure that the treatment is suitable for you.
We always tell you honestly what can be achieved with the procedure.
