VAT 0% prices apply to procedures performed on medical grounds, such as health-related or functional reasons. VAT 25.5% prices apply to procedures performed purely for aesthetic purposes.
The VAT status of a procedure is always assessed during your consultation.
Consultations and Minor Procedures
How the Cost of a Appointment is Determined
At Muotosairaala, physicians operate as independent practitioners and determine their own consultation fees. The total cost of a consultation consists of the physician’s fee, as well as the outpatient clinic fee and Kanta fee. In addition, the final price may be affected by any minor procedures performed during the visit, materials used, and any medical statements or certificates that may be required.
Outpatient Clinic Fee and Kanta Fee
The outpatient clinic fee is charged for in-person and remote consultations, examination and procedure visits, treatment-related phone calls, and prescription renewals.
The outpatient clinic fee covers costs related to organizing and providing services. These include expenses associated with appointment booking, patient registration, cashier services, guidance and customer support, as well as the maintenance of patient information systems. The fee also contributes to staffing, facilities, telecommunications, and telephone costs.
The Kanta fee is charged for service events in which information is recorded in the Finnish Kanta Services. These include, for example, in-person and remote consultations, treatment-related phone calls, and examinations and procedures performed by a physician. The fee covers costs arising from statutory regulatory obligations and the related system and maintenance expenses.

Direct Reimbursement from Kela
We offer Kela direct reimbursement, which is automatically deducted from the total fee at the time of payment for eligible visits.
In 2026, Kela reimbursements are as follows:

Cancellation Policy for Plastic Surgery Procedures: We use advance invoicing 14 days prior to the scheduled procedure date. If a patient cancels a procedure without a medical reason less than 14 days before the scheduled procedure date, 50% of the procedure cost will be charged. This policy also applies to appointments that are not cancelled. If a procedure is cancelled for medical reasons, it will be rescheduled to a mutually agreed date.
