want to share my personal story to encourage women who feel that their breasts cause suffering, emotional distress or significantly reduce their quality of life.
Just a few months ago, I had small, unattractively shaped breasts that I had suffered from since my teenage years. I had not realized that I had a congenital developmental abnormality of the breasts. What makes me sad is that my breasts defined me for decades. I felt like a failure, I felt body shame because of my breasts, and I certainly did not feel feminine. I have given birth to two wonderful children, but I was unable to breastfeed them. My breasts simply did not produce milk, so I adapted and accepted my “fate”. I would not wish any mother to experience that kind of feeling of inferiority and shame because of her breasts. I remember sometimes thinking that superficial people get silicone breast implants, but I was not like that. As it turned out, things went differently!
Through a series of fortunate coincidences, I ended up at a consultation at Muotosairaala, where a heavy burden fell from my shoulders.
I had familiarized myself with the different options for breast augmentation and looked into potential hospitals and plastic surgeons. It was important to me that I would place myself in the hands of someone I could trust, someone who wanted to perform the procedure specifically for me.
I chose Muotosairaala because I found the wonderful Elena there. She specializes in correcting developmental abnormalities of the breasts and is also writing her doctoral dissertation on the subject.
My first appointment at Muotosairaala went exactly as I had hoped, and I felt welcome. During the appointment, Elena was warm and genuine, listened in order to understand my story and answered the questions that were on my mind. We were on the same wavelength, and trust was created immediately. Elena understood me when I told her that the aesthetic result was secondary compared to the fact that the shame and feeling of inferiority would finally be allowed to leave my life for good through the surgery.
We went through different options, and Elena explained how she would perform the surgery and outlined what the final result would look like. Elena’s way of working showed me that she had vision and an aesthetic eye for ensuring that the size of my breasts would be natural and harmonious with the proportions of my body. I remember asking Elena whether she wanted to reshape me and “bring me to life” as a new woman. Of course she did!
As a client, I was prepared, instructed and kept well informed before the actual day of the procedure. The hospital experience was unforgettable in a positive way, thanks to the wonderful nurses and skilled Elena, whose expertise I still marvel at every day when I look at my lovely new breasts in the mirror. Even after I returned home, I was not left alone to wonder and get used to my new life with implants. I received answers to my questions, and we stayed in touch many times before the follow-up appointment. It is clearly a matter of honor for the employees of Muotosairaala to support the client personally, help with recovery in the best possible way and make it easier to adjust to a new body.
Now that a few months have passed since the procedure, I can genuinely say that I made one of the biggest and best decisions of my life. I did it out of love for myself and my own wellbeing. My mind feels light, I feel feminine, I keep smiling, and I am so happy that I showed courage. I am deeply grateful to the wonderful Elena, who is a healer to me. I also encourage you to bravely take control of your own life and make the decision that, deep down, you know is best for you. All in all, I am extremely satisfied with my experience at Muotosairaala and can sincerely recommend them.
